How do you clean idel air control valve?
IDLE AIR CONTROL VALVE (IAC) Definition: An electrically-operated valve which allows air to bypass the throttle plate in a fuel injected engine to regulate engine idle speed. IDLE AIR CONTROL VALVE (IAC) The (IAC) is located under the Triton Plastic cover in the middle of the engine compartment. Very easy to replace. There are two bolts and one plug.It should only take you around 10 or 15 minutes to change. Buy it new; it doesn't even pay to clean it. It works half the times. But it will go bad eventually…

Where is the egr valve 1996 dodge neon There is nothing attached to your air inlet 2.0 sohc?
EGR Valves for 95-99 dodge neons are bolted to the transmission side of the cylinder head; below and to the right of the cam position sensor. It has 2 rubber vacuum hoses and a steel tube that connects it to the intake manifold below the throttle body. Do not confuse the EGR valve with the Electronic EGR Transducer which can be identified by the electrical connector, the EGR valve does not have any electrical connectors attached to it.
yes
Where is the EGR valve located on a 1994 GMC safari van?
The EGR Valve is located right behind the carberater. After pulling the dog house off and the air filter holder that sits above the injectors, it'll be easier to see. It looks like a cilinder held on by to bolts into the carberator. Addtional info: On our 1994, it only came with a 4.3 Vortec engine the EGR is accessed by removing the air cleaner housing top and bottom. You'll see it under carb intake port and just above and to the left of the thermostat housing. It is easy to get there if you use a short standard screwdriver and take the filter tube off of the carb there, near the front of the engine. A 10mm socket is needed for 2 bolts It helped to have a long extension for my ratchet wrench. Make sure you are careful with the gasket. Most of the time you can just use carb cleaner to clean up the valve instaed of buying a new one.

Egr valve on 1999 Kia Sportage?
good luck i think it is behind the block on the left u have to take off your whole intake to get to it
There is a vacuum hose between the firewall and the back of the motor, it is formed with the 2 ends different diameters. The hose collapses when it is running which causes the engine to stall. I believe this is a dealer only item. Just replaced mine and the car runs fine now.
Take it to auto zone and have the codes read for free.
its just a vacuum hose probably. mine did it before too.
Autozone will not provide enough help.
Pull the codes from the computer, match the code to the troubleshooting procedure, follow the procedure to find the source. Repair the source, light will go out if that was the only problem. There are "monitors" or self tests the computer runs the car through a drive cycle, if a problem occurs, it may not run all of the self tests until that problem is taken care. Therefore, another problem may exist. It is emission related. OR hook up a scanner that is capable of clearing codes, and hope that none are still active.
Check that the Oxygen sensors are correctly installed and working. Also check with your ford dealership to see if your car is one of many that needs a new FUEL pump. Ford has a TSB on this and will replace it for free... I have a 2003 Focus SVT with all the same problems.
could be a PCV Valve. My 01' Ford Escort with similar engine needed that recently. Appox 5 dollars easy fix.
My 2000 Focus wagon had the exact same problem and I could hear vacuum sucking in the engine compartment. In the end it was two failures at once: 1) the PCV hose failure like everyone else, and 2) a broken white plastic vacuum cap on the intake manifold.
Some folks have luck simply replacing the odd-sized PCV hose with the Ford replacement, but I was not so lucky. In my case both ends of the PCV line (under the intake manifold and connected to the PCV valve) were bust. So, to replace the entire assembly I did the following:
I bought a "PCV elbow" (by Help! auto parts), hose clamps, 3 feet of 7/16" fuel line, and a replacement PCV valve all from Pep Boys. I bought a 1/2" brass hose connector from Lowe's. I connected the elbow to the fuel line with the brass connector and secured the PCV valve in the other end of the fuel line with a hose clamp. I removed the old hoses and PCV valve and replaced them with the new rig. I had to route the new hose around the engine block, but there was plenty of room.
I still had vacuum leaking and a really rough idle after replacing the PCV line. I found the source of the leak by using a length of hose as a stethoscope. It was a rotten, white plastic cap on the intake manifold. I bought a set of rubber vacuum plugs (by Help! auto parts) from Pep Boys and one was a perfect fit.
After both of these fixes the idle was back to where it was a couple of years ago. Good luck!
the vaccume hose is broken and is over heating you need to replace it for only $500
:if nothing has helped so far, check your egr valve as it probably just needs a good cleanin'. egr stands for exhaust gas recirculation and is usually located between the exhaust manifold and the intake manifold. it gives metered, pre-heated air from the exhaust to the carburetor and generally has carbon deposits on it. it sounds like yours has an abundance of carbon in the passage causing the car to die when your approaching a stop sign or something.Where do you find emission control diagrams?
my diagram is a sticker right inside the engine compartment (ford) autozone has most of the diagrams on their site, too.
How do you remove the egr valve on a1995 Ford Thunderbird?
I have a 94 T Bird with the 4.6 V-8 which I am attempting to replace the EGR valve. The EGR valve is extremely difficult to get to, its located to the right rear corner of the intake just inboard and to the rear of the right valve cover, I am still in the middle of trying to remove my EGR. So far from what I done is to try to agin access to the EGR, I removed a coolant hose that connects to the back of the engine to gain access, there's a couple of rubber hoses and lines that are blocking access, the unit is very unaccesible, there's a metal exhaust line that is screwed into to the back of the EGR valve with what appears to be a 22 or 23 mm nut, from there the EGR valve is mounted to the back of the engine with two small bolts and there's also a gasket which seals the EGR unit to the engine ,like I said I'm still struggling to gain access to my unit, the biggest problem is the tight area between the firewall and the engine where the EGR is mounted. On top of that there's a bunch of obstructions, hoses engine pieces ect, the key is to remove as much stuff around the EGR as possible to gain access. Good luck, I'm about ready to give up on mine and take it to a repair shop, hopefully you fair better than me.

Disconnect the negative battery terminal. Disconnect the wiring connectors to the air cleaner, Mass Air Flow sensor, EGR vacuum solenoid, and DPFE sensor. Remove the air intake assembly (up to the throttle body). There are two vacuum lines from the EGR vacuum solenoid, find where they reach the EGR valve and the intake manifold, disconnect them at these points. There is a rubber hose coming from the firewall to the top of the engine, disconnect this and push it aside. Remove the nut directly below this hose (this nut holds the bracket that the DPFE and EGR vacuum solenoid are mounted to). Follow the mounting bracket around and remove the smaller nut holding it on. Have some tape ready to mark two hoses. Make a note of which hose is the "Hi" and "Ref" on the DPFE sensor and remove them. Remove the DPFE/EGR vacuum solenoid assembly. Congratulations, now you have access to the EGR valve!!
Slide the heat protective sheath back on the EGR tube (you need to see the tube, to make sure you are not turning the tube itself!!) The EGR tube and EGR valve will likely be rusted very badly. Spray some PB Blaster at the EGR valve/EGR tube connection, and between the nut on the EGR tube and the tube itself (the nut is supposed to be able to move independently of the tube). Attempt to loosen the nut. If you manage to break it free, ensure you are not turning the tube itself and crimping it. If you can't turn it, use a blow torch and concentrate the flame on the fitting on the EGR valve side (heating metal expands, and could loosen it enough to break it free). Once the EGR tube is disconnected, remove the EGR valve mounting bolts (2). Installation is the reverse of removal.

What does Emissions Control Vent Malfunction Mean?
Most likely, this is taken out of context. You may mean Evaporative Emissions Control Vent which refers to the function of equalizing the pressure within the fuel tank and atmospheric air.
; it is normally caused by a loose gas cap

How do you install an egr valve on a 1997 cadillac deville?
I have a 95 Eldorado and recently had an EGR valve problem. After removing the plastic "Northstar" cover, you will be able to see the intake manifold, fuel rail, and alloof the injectors. the EGR valve is located right next to the fuel rail, before any of the injectors. If your car is 1995 or newer the fuel rail has a metal flange that is placed over one of the bolts holding the valve in plae. If you are doing this yourself it is important to remember to remove the injectors from the manifold, and not the fuel rail, otherwise you may run into problems.
After removing the fuel rail just enough to get the flange off from the top of the EGR valve bolt, unplug, and unbolt the valve. Remember that there is a special gasket for this part, and to make sure not to break or lose it.
After the valve is removed you will see 2 holes in the bottom of it. one open, and one with a screw looking pin in it, that is spring loaded. Carefully take a screwdriver, and compress the pin. If it sticks, theres your problem, and that "Check Engine" light is caused by that. Alhough its not entirely recommended, i used carburater, and fuel enjector cleaned in the valve to free up the pin. An important thing to remember is that if you do this DO NOT hold the vlave upside down. These cleaners are corrosive, and will ruin the sensors in the vlave. Lay it sideways to clean.
After doing this, try the responsiveness of the vlave with a screwdriver again. If it functions proberly, you can reinstall it. If not, you must by a new part.
I cleaned my EGR valve last weekend, and its worked great so far. Not to mention i saved about 450 dollars by reusing the part, and doing it myself. Another win for do it yourselfers!
