Where is your actuator located on 96 ford windstar?

Given that this question is posed in December (Winter), I'll assume the referenced actuator is the one that controls the temperature blend door...

That actuator is almost directly behind the radio. It can be accessed easiest by removing the radio (not hard to do), and/or up from underneath down by the gas pedal.

How do you replace a heater blend door actuator switch on a ford windstar?

The dashboard *switch* - slide control itself??

Never heard of one of those going bad, but... Start with the dash trim piece - 2 7mm screws at the bottom - alongside the ashtray/cup-holder pull out. The trim piece then unsnaps from the dash.

Expect a couple more screws holding the heater controls and wire connection or 2.

Pretty straight-forward.

Who can program transponder keys?

This is not for the rule abiding, uptight individual, so as far as the rest of the world goes.. if you have one key to your transponder key vehicle. Simply take the key hide it under your dash on the driver side in any fashion you feel comfortable with, but, of course, have a key cut that matches it(regular key) your computer will pick up the transponder under the dash and the $3 key will start it. Your other question will be "can people still my car now" yes, they can... will they.. NO, probably not. The reason for that is, that thieves know what they are stealing. they know your car has a transponder on it and won't even try.. they will move on to the next car. Can you bypass the transponder? NO. once again.. a thief knows this...

How can you tell when 2002 Altima Mass Air Flow MAF sensor is bad or going bad?

I've read some forums and it looks like it might be when the engine goes into "safe mode" and won't let you rev over 2500 RPM. I have a 2002 Nissan Altima that started having this problem that would not allow me to rev past 2500 RPM's and it got worse. I tore the engine down after the dealer informed me that the pre-cat was coming apart and was going to suck particles back into the motor and destroy it. People this is a bunch of crap.......The truth is the pre-cat is coming apart and everything in the pre-cat will be stuck in the second cat causing the engine to overheat because the exhaust gases cannot get out and the engine will not rev due to the fact that it cannot breathe.

What if your 98 windstar dies when you come to a stop but not all the time any ideal's?

It could be a faulty Intake Air Control valve, a vacumm leak, or a faulty transmission torque converter lock up slenoid. The most likely are the first two I listed.

Differnct Respondent: I'm a 1998 Windstar owner and had a similar problem. Van would stall out occasionally following stop. Took it to dealer and they did some sort of clean out of the air intake cavity and fuel injectors. I don't recall exactly but cost was prbably less than $200 and Van no longer stalls out

Where does the freon go in a 1992 Mustang?

Where to add freon in a 1992 MustangThere are two places you can add coolant to the mustnag. The easiest place it the simi-clear resivor attached to the right side of the radiator. There is a fill line in which you can gauge how much to add. This can be done with the car hot. If this resivor is completely empty you will first need to wait until the engine has cooled. Once cooled, remove the radiator cap from the radiator. With a flash light inspect the radiator coolant level. You can add coolant to the top of the radiator, because any excess will be pushed out to the resivor. It's also a good idea to start the car before you replace the cap. Let the engine get warm again, until the thermostat opens. Gradually add more coolant until the entire system in full. Hope this helps. I have owned and raced many 87-93 mustangs. On a scale of 1-10; 1-easy and 10-hard it is about a 1.5. Just remember to wait until the engine is cool before removing the radiator cap and you might want to put a towel over it as you remove it. Also safety glasses wouldn't hurt.
