Why are you not getting heat 95 cavalier replaced heater core no different?
Well First is the blower motor working if not probably good reason why very little heat is coming out but some would come out. Also you might want to check the thermostat if the thermostat is stuck open you would be getting some heat if stuck closed heat would not be the best.
If blower motor is bad short term fix is to just get a hammer and give it a whack on the bower motor b/c there is a motor ..... and brushes need to connect to the motor to complete the circut if the brushes get clogged then the blower motor will not work properly.
The thermostat should be on the (looking at the car from the front) on the right hand side coming from the rad.(raditor) Into the engine block. should look like a bubble at the end of the hose.
Ps. I really hopes this helps its hard to diag. problems with out actually looking at the car
The compressor will "cycle" on and off if the refrigerant level is getting low. There is a sensor that detects the pressure of the refrigerant on the "low" side. If there is enough pressure, the compressor can turn on. When the compressor pulls some of the refrigerant and compresses it to the "high" side, there will be less refrigerant for the low side, which causes the sensor to turn the compressor off again, then the refrigerant migrates back to the low side and the compressor can cycle back on. Once the refrigerant level gets so low that the sensor won't allow it to turn on, you're done. You need to find the leak, repair it and recharge the system. Most AC systems that leak that fast have a worn seal and/or main shaft bearing in the compressor. You can't really repair a compressor so if that's your problem, just plan on getting a new one. Look at the compressor, around the pulley. If you see oil, that's your leak.
How do you change the AC belts on a 1991 Corolla?
you need to relase the tension pully to allow you more room for changing belt once done hold the pully tight by using a metal bar or pipe while tightning the nut ADD - Going from my 1990 layout, which is similar (i think) to the 91, you need to loosen the bolt facing up (between engine and alt), but you also need to loosen the front of the idler pulley. The front bolt locks the pulley down. DONT OVERTIGHTEN. A new belt is 140-180 lbs tight, or 110-150 for used using a belt tension gauge. If you overtighten, you will stress the rubber ring in the harmonic balancer (crank pulley) and it will eventually give out. ($120 for a new one in 2009)
How do you repair ac on a 2002 Ford Focus?
First, you have to know what's wrong with it. AC repair really isn't a DIY thing.. you'll be much better off having a qualified tech do it.
What happens when engine coolant freezes?
Depends. If it just becomes mushy or freezes very little, probably no damage will be done. if it freezes solid, you will have severe internal engine damage. Cracked block, or cracked head is common.
I noticed that you mentioned all parts normally installed with a overheating problem except for the water pump. A blown headgasket, cracked head or block will cause overheating. There a several types of test leaks you have done by mechanic or purchase at your local auto parts store.
In the 1970's, Dodge operated the vent/heater controls from engine vacuum. There were vacuum lines that went from the engine compartment into the passenger compartment to operate the flaps that directed air wherever you wanted it to go. With the engine off, there would be a "default" or "relaxed" position that the flaps would return to. When idling or when driving under almost any condition except hard acceleration, engine vacuum is high, and moving the controls to something other than the "default/relaxed" position would cause vacuum to be transferred through different actuators, thereby moving the flaps and redirecting the air. Under hard acceleration, engine vacuum goes way down. With no vacuum or very little vacuum, the flaps would return to their default position. It's possible (likely) that Dodge still used the same system in 1994. If your vents quit working completely (and your engine starts running rough), its likely that there is a vacuum leak somewhere....probably a broken/cracked/dry rotted rubber hose.
96 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY VERY BAD SMELL COMES WHEN I TURN THE AC ON?
Why is your antifreeze tank boiling?
The overflow tank for coolant will "boil" if there is air getting in the coolant chamber. This can be a head gasket going bad.
check your oil on the dipstick. if you have a cracked head or blown head gaskets the oil on your dipstick might have bubbles on it from water getting into your oil. another sign is white smoke coming from your tailpipe meaning you are burning water. I don't think you can over heat your oil, if your oil got too hot it would burn and you would smell it.
How difficult is it to repair an auto AC compressor?
Without special tools and adequate knowledge, rebuilding an A/C compressor is essentially impossible. Replacing it can also be problematic without knowledge of how to do the complete repair (replace drier/accumulator? flush system? add proper amount and type of oil?). If you don't already KNOW what you're doing, either get knowledgeable help (someone who KNOWS what he's doing, not just THINKS he knows) or have a competent shop take care of it.
There is a way to repair the compressor as long as it's not the internal gasket. Walmart carries a temporary repair kit. It should get you through the rest of the summer, and maintaining the a/c in the fall and winter is cheaper in labor because mechanics know it's not something you NEED at that time. Also, helpful hint to keep your compressor's internal gaskets in good shape in the winter, run the defrost on cold air for at least 5 minutes every day when not using the a/c that day. It uses the compressor to keep the gaskets moist... if those gaskets get too dry and crack, there is virtually NO way to repair it.
This depends entirely upon what needs to be repaired. If, for example, the electro-magnetic Clutch is faulty, you may find that replacement parts are available. Using special tools (like pulley pullers, etc.), a competent mechanically oriented person could succeed in replacing a Clutch assembly.
Sometimes, the "Shaft Seal" leaks. In this case, it is also possible to replace it---after removing the Clutch assembly
Problems that are "Internal"to the Compressor are, in general, not repairable by a "Novice". In most cases, replacement parts are NOT available. And, even if they were, it requires precision measurement equipment to ensure that the "Fits" of the precision parts are correct.
Rather than try to "Repair" a Compressor, the most common solution is to purchase a complete replacement unit. This could be an "Original Equipment" Compressor or a "Re-Manufactured" Unit that is available from quite a few "Re-Man" Enterprises. Most of these are located in Texas.
A word of CAUTION. Even if you purchase a complete replacement Compressor, it will still be "Quite a Challenge" for a "Novice" without specialized tools to swap Compressors. To Open the System, Flush the System, Ensure the Correct Type and Amount of Lubricating Oil, Evacuate the System, Charge the System and Leak Test /Performance Test the System requires significant special equipment and technical knowledge to do correctly.
The "Risks" of trying to do this yourself are quite high. The Compressor cost will, typically, be $150 to $300. Quite expensive. If the installation is done improperly, the distinct possibility exists that the NEW Compressor could fail quickly due to seizure.
In summary, the best approach to "Fixing" an A/C Compressor problem on your vehicle will generally be to have it done by someone who has real, documented, expertise in this area.
If you have further needs for information about any aspect of A/C Compressor replacement / repair you may call me at answer any auto store sells replacement compressors. most vehicles no longer use freon as suggested in first answer, most now use r-12 or r-34 adapter kits are available to change to r-34 kits with proper amount of oil and gas are available to recharge system, after you change compressor. u do NOT need to be licensed to do this just know proper amount of oil and gas to put into system
Why is my 1998 Ford Escort temp gauge stuck after overheating and how do I fix it?
Get a new gage cluster panel.
Does 1998 Chevrolet Cavalier have a cabin filter?
No, I have a 1998 Cavalier and it does not have a cabin filter. You can take off the 3 bolts off the heater blower and remove any leaves or debris.
How do you bleed the air out of a cooling system on a 1990 Chevrolet Lumina with a 3.1L engine?
On top of the thermostat housing is a bleed valve. Loosen the top nut first, this will bleed it. There is another one on the radiator, but I haven't found it yet.
Where is the heater on a 1992 Ford Aerostar and how do you replace it?
Well, I have 93 and I ended up installing one between the two bucket seats because it was so expensive to replace plus the autopart store had to order it. It is located on the right side above the glove compartment and covered by the "plastic" housing where the front passenger can almost touch it with his/her toes. May need specia tool to remove the two hoses coming from the engine. Good luck.
Where is thermostat on astra 1.7 td?
The thermostat is located on the front bottom of the engine. You can follow the radiator water hose from the radiator to the thermostat.
Ground the motor housing on the new motor and see if it works then
Relay sticking.
Where is the cooling fan sensor on 1988 corvette?
located on radiator shroud on drivers side and possibly drivers side on fenderwell
What year your air cooled vw engine with engine number H 1156930?
It is more than likely a 68' engine. My own 68 has an "H" engine code.
It is next to the thermostat housing.
What do you do if the HVAC blower motor won't go off when you turn off the ignition?
It sound like an electical problem. I would think it to be a defective switch, relay or wiring . Try pulling out the relay or fuse.
What is the purpose of a hose routed from the intake manifold to the heater hose on a 1988 Chevy v8?
your vehicle is equipped with a water cooled manifold
