How do you disable a 1993 Chrysler New Yorker Alarm?

I have a 1995 Chrysler New Yorker. The alarm used to be very annoying. If you have a remote control for the car, basically consider it your source of problems. I accidentally doused mine in water and haven't used it since. I would suggest you do the same.

Now, for starters, it's a good idea to remove the Horn Relay while you work on this, so you don't disturb your neighbors. I removed the horn relay and the system will flash lights and disable the engine crank for a while. I also disconnected the entire battery (very carefully) and came back. However, it still went off. So you just have to let it run its course with the battery plugged back up, the lights will flash and you'll hear the clicking sound inside the car, but it will eventually reset itself.

The only way you will be able to accidentally set off the alarm is by unlocking the door the wrong way from the passenger side. Again, if you continue to use the remote, you'll continue to have problems. Since I've lost the remote, the alarm has only gone off once in over a years time, as opposed to it going off constantly. How do you stop the airbag light from flashing on a 1993 Ford Aerostar van?

This could possible be as simple as cheking the fuse. If the fuse for the airbag system is good, there are numerous other reasons. My suggestion would be to purchase a Chilton's Manual for your Aerostar. You can get them from most autopart stores. They have decent step-by-step troubleshooting guides. Alarm is set and I need to get it of to start the car via cables. help George We have a 96 Land Cruiser. The battery went dead and we dealt with the same problem when trying to recharge the battery. Airbag light in 1999 Nissan maxima kept flashing?

There are two solutions for this problem, that either is resulting from a harness ground or a loose connection between the airbag sensor plugs.

Try these the steps below

1. Turn the key from off to on.

2. Watch the airbag light closely. It will stay on for a few secs. and then as soon as it blinks off (the start of the flashing), turn the key off instantly.

3. Count to 5 (1 Mississippi, 2 Mississippi . . . .)

4. Repeat steps 1-3 two more times until you have done the cycle three times.

5. Now turn the key on and watch the light. It will start blinking in a different, slower manner. This is diagnostic mode. You can watch this for a little while, no hurry.

6. Now turn the key off again, Count to 5 like in step 3 again, and turn back on. If the procedure worked, the airbag light will not be flashing.

If this doesnt work try

1. Turn ignition off.

2. Open drivers side door.

3. Locate the driver door switch (located on door post)

4. Turn Ignition on and press the door switch at lease 5 times within 7 seconds.

5. If light starts flashing quickly in a marker sequence you have an existing fault code.

if light continues to flash slowly, you have an itermittent problem.

Once you turn key off and restart vehicle the system will be reset.

It is very common to have the seat belt restraints lose their ground. Beware of replacing many of these components yourself, unless they are done properly you could set the airbag off.

What do you do when the theft system on a 99 Olds Cutlass engages occasionally when you try to start the car?

According to the owner's manual - you need to shut off the ignition and wait about 10 minutes for the theft system to reset. It usually doesn't take a full ten minutes, in my experience, more like 5 minutes. My own online search about this indicates that this module can go out and leave you stranded - don't know about disconnecting it.

You have a Nissan 240sx and you don't have the remote for the alarm. you am not sure if it a factory or after factory alarm. you need help to disable the alarm as you cannot get the car started?

If it is a factory alarm, then this information can be found in your owner's manual. Don't have one, get one. Dealer or salvage yard is a source. If it is aftermarket and you don't have the manual, contact the manufacture of the system. the factory 'security system' can be disabled by closing the door, and locking and unlocking it with the key.

Why Remote Key for opel astra not working2002 14cc?

The soldering idee (see below) is good and al but first try to "re-pair" the remote with the car ignition, for some reason it gets unpaired sometimes (might be when changing the remote's battery),

1.Sit in the car,

2. Insert the key and switch the ignition-system to on (without starting the car),

3. Press the close or open button on the remote,

the door locks should operate a couple of times and the remote should now be pared. This might cause the spare remote to stop working just remember to pair it as well next time you want to use it, this means to press its button as you did with the first (within the first 30seconds after switching the ignition, step 2). Hope this helped. Cheers J van SA

It is a common problem with the Opel Astra remote keys. But it is easy ti fix. You need a soldering iron and a magnifier. Open the key (you can find out how to open the key in the "How to change remote key battery" in the Users manual). Check with the magnifier and you will see some broken conections betwen the battery and the circuit board. If you have a bit of skill you can solder the contacts yourself. If not it is better to ask someone with experience because the circuits are very close one to each other and you can and up making a bridge betwen them. Good luck!

Why wont your alarm control work after changing the batery?

If it's an aftermarket alarm, you may need to reprogam that remote to the module. The settings have gone back to factory default. If you have your owners manual still, try reprogamming the remote. If that doesn't work, check fuses, maybe something didn't agree with the re-hooking of the battery.
