I am pretty sure that it will take 5w30. This information is located in the owners manual. As long as it doesn't get too cold in the winter in you area, then 10w30 will be fine as well.

How do you change brake pads on a 86 Mazda pickup?

Not to be to smart but, seriously go BUY a manual!!!!! A haynes or chiltons manual shows a complete step by step process to do this simple maintenance. It takes too much time to explain this and a manual will always be there to answer most questions you will need. The cost is about 20.00 or more at your local advance auto parts, auto zone, napa, carquest, or o'reillys carry either brand and if not in stock can order it and have it next day or a day or two later.I will tell you that you will need the basic sockets, wrenches and a C-clamp which will be used to push the piston back in on the caliper.I also suggest getting several cans of brake clean, caliper pin bolt grease, and if your rotor are worn(show any grooves or never changed) suggest buying new ones over having them machined at a local shop simply due to it is cheaper to buy new over the cost of resurfacing the old ones.

If you don't want to buy, or can't afford the extra $$ to buy a manual, visit your local public library. Oftentimes, they will have a repair manual specific to your vehicle available for checkout.

How do you change spark plug and wires on 2000 durango?

What engine do you have? If you have the 4.7 you can not change them as they used an entirely different system. On the 5.2/5.9 its very easy if you just take your time. Remove the coil wire first and get it out of your way (coil wire is the center post of the cap) after that remove ONE WIRE from the cap, then remove it from the spark plug, match it up with a wire from your new set for length and then place it on the cap and plug routing it as the one you just removed. While you are doing the wires it would be adviseable to replace the cap and rotor as well.

1998 Dodge Durango The AC heater blower motor will only work sometimes Any suggestions?

I'm in the same boat here... you need a new blower motor. It is going to cost you a bit of money as I found out they have to remove the whole dash to get at it. I did find if it does not work for me all I do is give it a hit. P/S under the dash you will see a black air duct just above that there is a steel plate give it a hit with your hand. Heres advice from someones whos been there. I used to have to hit the unit under the dash to get the blower motor to work. Then one day it didnt work at all. Took the whole dash out and when I checked the motor worked fine!! The problem was... Drumroll..... The Ground. Fixed it by splicing a new ground into the existing black wire which came out of the fan speed switch. Learn from my mistake and try this before you pull out the fan motor. Good luck!

What causes antifreeze to leak when your 98 dodge durango is parked and makes the car over heat when in idle and cool off when driving.?

I don't know what happens when your Durango is parked, but if it overheats when idling it should be caused by an extremely low level of the coolant. When the level is very low, the temperature rise quickly, and fall when the vehicle speed increase, thanks to the air that cool down the radiator. You should check radiator hoses or some gasket of the cooling system, that could be damaged, then repair it and fill the system with coolant as specified in the car's owner's manual. Following this you should eliminate the problem

How do you replace the bolts in the exhaust manifold?

They are probably not bolts but studs. Each has one split washer and a nut. Take the nut off on of the studs and screw in onto the one your wish to remove. Using two spanners lock the two nuts against each other (Now you have two nuts on one stud). Then unscrew the stud using the inner nut. This should unwind the whole stud. Use two spanners to separate the nuts and repeat for all 8(?).

Apparently Holden Rodeos have a problem with broken exhaust studs (along with cracking the exhaust pipe at the collector point (where the exhaust becomes one pipe). I have a 1992 Rodeo 4WD. The last bolt into the exhaust manifold was missing (when bought). Someone had tried to drill it and made a mess of it. Your choices are: drill the snapped bolt out yourself (potentially a big problem - you might drill through to the water jacket), get the exhaust shop to do it - they might drill it out, put a heli coil in (to accept a larger bolt) or get them (or someone else) to TIG weld it and fill it with aluminum and then redrill it to original. I decided to ignore it and get the exhaust shop to put plenty of sealant either side of the exhaust gasket. It has not made a sound in 2-3mths... (don't want to curse myself).

Sometimes you got to ask yourself is it worth it - I like to get any car I've bought back into as good condition as is reasonable - but some jobs take a lot of time and or money for little real return.

Where is the radiator drain cock on a 2001 dodge Dakota?

Good luck trying to find it. I gave up looking for mine and just pulled the lower hose and drained it that way. It does the same thing. Good luck.

Answer

Looking at the Dakota from the front, look to see how the radiator is mounted, more to the point, the "tray" that the radiator sits on in the engine compartment. After studying its location, lay down in front of the truck to the left side. (Lying on your back, looking up, the left wheel will be at your left shoulder.) Remembering the basic location of the "Tray", look for a round opening in the "tray" where the radiator sits on a rubber mount on the left side of the radiator. In that hole, you will see a "Wingnut" looking plug. This is your drain-plug. Turning it counter-clockwise opens it.

How many quarts of oil for a 5.0 86 ford?

The 86 300-6, 302 V8, 351W V8, and BB460 V8 all called for a 6 quart capacity.

5 quarts puts my 86 302 up to the top safe mark on my dipstick, but I've been told to add 6 anyways.

If you notice, there is a circle on up the dip stick. That's where 6 quarts put it. I don't know the definite answer, but I put 6 quarts in mine and that puts it to the small circle on the dipstick. Let me know if yours is the same. iceguy2003@hotmail.com

What kind of oil should you use in your 92 fzr 600?

the oil does not have to be specific to motorcycles, as long as it is not for a passenger car that has friction modifying agents that will cause clutch slip. you can use any "heavy duty" oil that's made for diesel trucks. usually they will end in -40 or -50, not -30 (which is standard for cars). anything between 5w-40/50 and 20w-40/50 should be fine, depending on where you live (temperature and viscocity)

How do you replace a 2004 Honda CR-V air filter?

I just did this the other week. On the right side of the engine you'll see a box-shaped structure with a hose attached to the left side of the box. Here are the steps:
1. Take a phillipshead screwdriver and losen the clamp for the hose enough to carefully pull it off.
2. Use a socket wrench that fits the nuts on the box to loosen the bolts (I tried the phillipshead screwdriver and found it to be too slow and tedious).
3. The bolts are a 2 stage bolt, which means the threading has a smooth gap in the middle, you may think you loosend the bolt but there is one more stage of loosening left.
4. Carefully lift the air box up, note how the air filter is positioned and take it out. Replace it with the same size filter (get your filter BEFORE doing all of this of course).
5. Once it's in place, put box back down and go in reverse order (tighten screws and put hose back on and tighten that). That should do it. ONE SUGGESTION: I bought and installed a K&N Air Filter for my 2004 CR-V for $48.00 on autoanything.com. It's a LIFETIME air filter and you just have to clean it every year or so. I am NOW getting 29-31 mpg on the highway!!!! This was on a recent trip: mountainous and flat highway, 2 people, two 60 pound dogs in the back, suitcases in the rear seats- no roofrack on. Before I was getting only 26-28, mostly 27 on the highway. Well worth the money and suggest it to all owners.
