The Neon is charged with 134a refrigerant.The amount used and type of oil are important. Take it to a mechanic.

the crank sensor is on the passenger side of the car on the back of the engine. Check right up there by the transmission housing.

right side under dash pull rught end of heater duct down, when loose pull to right of car. at the top of the carpet are several wires going into 2 plugs that are plugged into what appears to be more duct.
remove screw on each side of plugs and resistor should drop out.
$21.25 dealer item and most likely another problem caused it to fry and will do so again very soon. (possibly blower motor)

I just did a brake job on a 2001 intrepid. All I used was a standard 10mm socket. I got the whole job done in about an hour and a half (did all 4 wheels).

open the drivers side door and on the side of the dash is a panel that if you pull straight off you will find the fuse panel

There isn't a neutral safety switch. There is a manual lever position sensor(MLP). It combines all the fuctions of backup lights, neutral safety, and informing the PCM what gear you have selected into one unit. Follow the shift cable out to the transmission, and at the end, you will find the MLP.

well the first thing is to remove the lower seat. It has two clips near the front of it . Remove the lower seat now. Next remove the side panel right above the back seat. Now you have to remove the bolts for the seat belts, it holds the back part of the seat in. move the back part of the seat up towards the back window. You should hear the seat come loose. Now when you put the seat back in don't forget to pull the seat belts back though.

There will be a tensioner that has a square ratchet hole by the timing belt cover. Use a breaker bar to pull it towards the front of the car, it should release the tension to remove the belt. You may need a helper to do that. You may want to consider replacing the tensioner as well. They aren't too pricey and sometimes it's recommended.

I am having mine changed at a garage for 200.00 ca labor plus parts 2.2 hrs labor and buy the parts at the cheapest place you can find. If you do not time it properly you will damage the engine. 200.00 is a small price to pay for a job well bone and peace of mind...good luck...The parts will be under 200.00 for a belt and tensioner.

You will find battery on the newer Intrepids under the air breather box, accessible thru passinger side front wheel well. To remove you will need to remove breather box to get at the battery post.

Is this coming from the engine? If it is it sounds like you might have some lifter problems. Or the worse part is if you have a rod knocking. Intrepids did have some egine problems.

Is it smoke or is it atomized freon leaking from the AC system? If it fogs the windshield and smells funny, you may have a leak in the AC/Heater system.

just go to a part store like schucks and have them read the trouble codes and erase the check engine light by their OBD code reader which they give it out for free and even help you use it if you have no idea how to.

its a in tank fuel filter replace the sock on the fuel pump

there are no wires. each spark plug has it's own "coil on top" remove the coil by pulling straight up . then remove and replace the spark plug. That wrong ther are wires on the 3.5 and it,s not easy you need to remove the intake manafold to remove & run new wires

I think it is all run off the computer. I would guess that some sensor or sensors are bad and need replaced because the sensors tell the computer how the gas and air mixture should be. I would take it and have a computer reading done on it to point you in the right direction as to which sensor/sensors may be acting up.

your thermostat is located on the lower drivers side of the block below the alternator. it is a royal pain...good luck...

If it's the same as a 1999, it's attached to the top of the fuel pump and doubles as the fuel regualtor as well. The fuel tank will have to be dropped to get to it.

If what you mean is the engine control module (brain) its on the passenger side underneath the sidewall spash guard panel. You'll have to remove the whole dash panel to get to it. I try removing just the glove box and that didn't allow me access to this item. Lot of screws to remove, air duct vents are just pressed into place, but their retaining brackets are attached with screws, remove buttons and knobs for radio, two screws are behind the cigi lighter, this whole tray has to be removed. Took 1 1/2 hours to remove 20 mintues to reinstall dash.

This information can be found in your owner's manual. Don't have one, get one. Dealer or salvage yard is a source. But, it means that their is a problem with the charging system.

Check behind the power steering pump, you will find a plastic housing with the lower rad hose hooked to it as well as the steel tube running to the back of the engine feeding the heater. I think there is 3 10mm bolts holding this housing on.

Cylinder head bolt torque 2.7L M8.....21 ft/lbs M11 Step1 35ft/lbs 2 55ft/lbs 3 55ft/lbs 4 Plus 1/4 turn
