i found the problem - loose wires in the harness

If the window is loose and can be moved up and down by hand it may have become disconnected from the track along the bottom of it (though it is secured pretty well.) Buy a GM door panel removal tool, about $10 in a auto parts store, remove the window and mirror switch panels from the door along with the two screws under the window switch panel. Start tp pry the door from the bottom working your way around, you'll find plastic anchors holding the door panel to the door that the tool fits around to access the cut outs to see why it is fallen.

The window works on sort of a pulley system. 2 cables pull at the bottom of the window to go up or down. The cables become frayed and no longer can go into the protective sheath or the spool. You will need to take off your door skin, unbolt your motor and spool. Then unhook the cables at any point they are attached and replace them. As for the cost, dont know. I cut my cables and put my window up and down with my hand. I use my car for work so im not worried about it. Hope this helps out.

WIRING VOLTAGE TEST The following wiring test determines whether or not voltage is continuous through the body harness to switch. Check Junction Block. † Refer to Group 8W, Wiring Diagrams for circuit information and component locations. REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION POWER VENT WINDOW MOTORREMOVAL (1) Disconnect battery negative cable. (2) Remove D-pillar trim panel. (3) Disconnect wire connector from power vent motor. (4) Remove nut holding crank to vent glass. (5) Remove bolts holding power vent motor to D-pillar (Fig. 4). (6) Remove power vent motor. (7) Pull the crank system from the motor. INSTALLATION Before installing crank, cycle replacement motor to the open position. Install crank hinge in extended position to the motor and for installation, reverse the above procedures. POWER WINDOW SWITCH To remove power window switches refer to Group 23, Body for proper procedures. POWER WINDOW MOTOR WARNING: DO NOT HAVE ANY HANDS OR FINGERSIN SECTOR GEAR AREA WHERE THEY CAN BE PINCHED BY SMALL MOVEMENTS OF REGULATOR LINKAGE. REMOVAL (1) Tape the window in its existing position to remove its weight from the regulator system. (2) Cut and remove the tie wrap at the window motor. Its no longer required. (3) Disconnect window motor wire connector from door harness. (4) Remove screws and nuts holding window motor to the inner panel. (5) Remove the motor from the door inner panel, let it hang from the cables. (6) With the cables still attached to the failed motor, Install the replacement motor to the door inner panel. Tighten down the screws and nuts to 3.4 to 4.5 N·m ( 30 to 40 in. lbs.) of torque. (7) Separate the failed motor from regulator by: † Removing the drum cover plate. † Lift the cable guide off the motor, the drum with cables, will be lifted off simultaneously (Fig. 5). CAUTION: Do not allow the drum to separate from the cable guide, by dropping drum or letting the cables unwind. INSTALLATION (1) Install the cable guide and drum into the replacement motor.

One fuse for entire circuit

You will need to remove the inside door panel of your Chevrolet Blazer. Remove the window retaining clips. Put the window back into the window track. Tighten the window retaining clips.

Take off the interior door panel and assess the problem, it could either be the window lift motor or the regulator. It may be both. Either way, you need to order the new parts (gomiata.com is great) and install them. Many body shops will do this for you also, at a higher cost due to labor.

Hey Chris==This is very hard on some makes as the door panel is hard to remove. After you get it off, you have to remove the motor which is attached to the window linkage which is under spring preasure. There are very sharp edges in the door so be careful. GoodluckJoe

You probably just need a new button. If you look at the wires on the defroster, you may find one that's broken. You can buy a repair kit for these at most auto parts stores. Just follow the directions. Also you need to check your fuse box and if that doesn't work, you've got a bad wire somewhere.

Ther are lots of things that could cause this problem. First, check the switch inside and at the door using a multitester. If both are working properly, check the motor. You can also use the multitester or get a portable 12V power source and connect it to the motor to see if its working. If the motor turns, check the control module, its hidden behind the left side plastic trim next to that small compartment. To access it you need to remove the trim. Check the module for burnt relays..it will cost you to get a new module..the cheapest way is to go to some wrecking yard.....Good Luck.. Another good look is to just listen at the door. If you hear the motor running but nothing is moving then the clutch mechanism is busted and you need to replace the motor. It is a whole unit and is about a hundred bucks online. You can do a temporary repair but you will need to replace the thing.

There is also a maxi-fuse/relay center under the hood where the inside of the cover has a chart that explains the features and controls governed by each fuse.

Take off the door pnl by pulling off the speaker grille you will find a screw, another screw is on the side of the door pnl by the door lock button (kind of in the jamb area), there is another screw behind the carpet on the bottom of the door pnl (you removed this carpet by prying it out with a screw driver very carefully), pull off the trim that goes around the pnl with the seat adjustment switches and remove the screws around that plate with the switches for the seat and the door lock switch then unplug the 2 plugs behind it, then through the holes where you removed the carpet piece take an 8mm or 5/16 socket and remove the chrome handle you open the door with, then carefully pry off the door pnl by every plastic push button with a door pnl remover tool (you can find these in any auto parts store or Harbor Freight) it looks like a Y shaped tool but it has an open elongated slot in the middle that you slip around those plastic connectors that are attached to the inside of the door pnl, if you carefully pull the door pnl out a little bit you can see them... Once you get the door pnl off carefully remove the foam piece behind it and take a flash light now and look inside to see where it is, there is another speaker hole down in the lower corner towards the front of the door you can remove it from, but you will have to unbolt it first and you will need a small hole saw and a drill... in the area where the gear head of the motor is there should be 3 tiny center punch marks where you will drill out (use a hole saw because a drill will butch up the sheet metal, get a hole saw a little bit bigger then the 8mm or 5/16 1/4 drive socket)... Now you can with a log extension go through the holes you drilled and remove those bolts carefully while holding onto the motor and remove it though that speaker hole and unplug it... When installing the screws I always use a little bearing grease on the heads of the bolts so they stay in the socket and make sure you get the window motor lined up right (this is very challenging and you will need to be very patient while doing this)... Once you get it back in and plugged in give it a run up and down, you might even have to side the window down a little to get the motor to seat all the way in... Before you put the new motor in you should be able to side the window up and down by hand very easily, it's also best to grease all the sides and spray some lube on everything in there that moves (I use CRC 336 for marine use on all pivots and synthetic grease on the sides... Any binding will burn out the motor early... Then reverse the whole procedure and put everything back together!!! Good Luck!!! I can do this in less then an hr now because my car is on it's 3rd set of motors it just turned 22yrs old!!!

Usually it's either the window regulator or window motor. You can buy both online for about half of what the dealer will charge for the part. It could also be the master switch on the driver's side, but if all the other windows are working fine, I'd replace the regulator and motor. I bought the regulator with motor combo for $81 delivered recently and my window is working perfectly now.

Remove the driver side panel remove loosen the three bolts holding the motor in place, lower the window by hand till you can see the two bolts that hold the window to the raising/lowering mechanism remove the bolts completely, then reach up from bottom and squeeze the bushings out the window sit on a ledge on the raising/lower bar which is entirely plastic... be careful not to force anything or the window will shatter the power window motor and cable should be replaced unless the trouble is just the motor but if the window moves even a little the trouble is likely in the cable system that is part of the motor assembly. The unit seems to be broken, it's just a nylon cord that forces the antenna up, then it pulls the ant. down once the signal is lost. The nylon cord came a loose from the tip of the antenna, which is not repairable. By a new one.

Drivers switch or the power window relay...read up on diagnostics... ...everyone should have a manual for their vehicle(parts store or dealer), and a local library should have professional shop manuals available in the REFERENCE section for free...make copies of the appropriate sections...read up and good luck :)

I just did this in my 85 bronco. I don't Know what if anything you tracked is right so I'll start from the begining. With 2 people and a voltameter. Open your tail gate. Go in the back and open the panel on your tailgate there is a wire connector on the inside of the tailgate, disconnect and put a voltameter on it, have the other person turn the switch up and down. If you see your 12 volts come on you are good to that point. If not its your wire's or switch.If it's your wire it is pobably between your tailgate and the truck on the drivers side. If you your good to this point than with a 5/16 socket remove the three bolts that hold's your motor in place and pull your motor out and reconnect it to the wireing, and turn your switch on and off. Does it move the gear? Is your ingtion turned to the on postion. If your gear does not turn go get another one form the dealer or junkyard.

Also - There is a safety switch in the left tailgate latch that will disable the window motor if it is not shut. If you push the latch in you can work on it with the tailgate down. When you take out the motor remove the gear cover and look at the spacers they will probably be shattered. I have heard of using nuts as a replacement. Open up the motor and with a volt meter test the wires from the brush to the plug. If you left the switch on up front you may have caused internal circuit breaker to be permanently open. If you see that just bend them back together. Put the motor back together carefully and give it a try.

The short answer is yes. car alarms have different types of activation devices. some tie-in to the light switch on the door. others have motion detection, sensors for glass breakeage, even thermal and echo detection. ask the salesperson for details.
