If the blower motor is not coming on the most common failure is a poor connection at the blower resistor module (located under the dash on the right side close to the firewall) this usually causes the wiring terminals to overheat and melt damaging the wire terminals and blower resistor module. this condition is most common on models with dual zone a/c system. you will need a new blower resistor module and a wiring connector repair package (available at dealer)

And yes I know there are two other wires, I don't know where they go, but they are not needed in a new system as far as I know. Also, the dimmer wire may not be brown, but may not matter as most aftermarket systems don't use it anyway.

These are instructions for a V8 Durango. You first remove the thermostat housing. Follow the upper radiator hose to where it heads into the engine vertically. This job is much easier if you remove the alternator and the upper alternator support bracket first. Squeeze the spring clamp on the radiator hose and pull the hose off. If you can't remove it, you may have to cut the rubber and shorten or replace the hose later. The metal part the hose connected to is the housing. Remove the two bolts and pull it out. The thermostat will either be stuck inside here or still resting on top of the engine. Pay attention to which way it is facing when you remove it because it must be reinstalled facing the proper direction. Replace everything in the same order it was removed.

If it the same as the 1998 model, there should be a black plastic box on the right side of the engine compartment that says "remove to service air filter element below", the filter is NOT in this box, it is in another plastic box below this one. You must remove the two screws on the box you see, romove the two hoses connected to it, one you just pull off, the other you must remove a clamp to remove. After you do this you can see the box containing the filter it is set vertically and has two metal clips keeping it closed, just reomve the clips, and change the filter, dont forget to replace both hoses and both screws.

Also to make the job more pleasant you have to drain the entire radiator. I did this and I'm not Einiesteiny but make sure you spray up the bolts before you try to turn them if you break off the top bolt the only way to get to it is to take off the dual row radiator. In a nut shell they don't want you to fix it by yourself but with a little patience it's doable.
