The water pump is driven by the timing belt. That is the belt that turns the camshaft. The entire front (Driver's side) of the engine must be dis-assembled and the cam timing must be re-set. It is not the kind of job a back-yard guy can do unless he is very familiar with this job and has the engine-specific tools required to set the cam timing. if the job is done and the cam timing is wrong, the valves will smash into the tops of the pistons when the engine is turned over. This pretty much destroys the top-end of the engine. Buy a repair manual and the right tools.

Hi, this is really easy. Just pry off the rubber boot and there is a wire 'latch' that you push in and it releases. The bulb slides out, pull from plug. Push new bulb in plug and put back into the headlight unit. Do not touch the new bulb with your fingers, notice the three tabs on the new bulb, line them up correctly. Push down on the wire latch until it hooks. Slide the rubber boot back on and you are done. Note that the passenger side headlight will require you to unbolt and push aside the battery. One other thing, if you get the newer Brighter headlights from Napa or Shucks, they do not last as long as the dimmer OEM headlight bulbs.

An idler pulley usually tensions a belt.. eg supercharger belt is kept taut by its respective idler pulley

If you are wanting to eliminate something like the ac compressor you will need to order the proper belt for a vehicle without that option.

Loosen 13mm nut that secures tension pulley. Then loosen 13mm nut/bolt just above tensioner assembly facing upwards, to remove tension from belt. Then finally remove the three 10mm bolts holding tensioner assembly to engine block. Install in reverse order.

yes it turns and it is very hard to remove without the proper tool, you need to go to your favorite auto part website and look for a crankshaft pulley removal tool

replace the pump

First locate the tensioner pulley next remove the large nut that holds it in place then replace with the new tensioner retighten the nut and torque to specs. run the serpentine belt as per the diagram on the front of the engine housing. note: these pulleys should be replaced after about 100,000 km's they usually fall apart on the highway or some place inconvenient.Can be replaced by a DIYer.

It could be, try shooting it with some wd40 and if it changes pitch or stops it probably is.

My bolt broke on my SB Chevy so I'm assuming your Honda can be fixed in a similar way. I drilled a hole in the bolt and used an extractor. Then, I had to re-thread the hole w/ a larger tap-die. So far it has held up - 1 year later. Hope that helps.

A pulley is just a wheel with a groove to hold a belt ,rope or chain. Your car likely has pulleys to run the radiator fan , the water pump , the air conditioner and the power steering. Elevators have a pulley. Your furnace probably has a pulley driven fan or pump. Movie projectors and video tape players have pulleys. Bicycles has a pulley to allow the pedal crank shaft to turn the drive wheel.

Usually the crankshaft is made of harder metal than the bolt, so you should be able to just replace the bolt. But who knows for certain until you try.

roller bearings are only needed if engine has roller bearings, u would replace bearings with same bearings that are in engine and cam specs
