Black smoke is an indication of to much fuel or too rich a mixture,when flooring the excelerator you have a waste of unburned fuel,it is better to excelerate slower to give the engine a better chance to utilize the gas. you are burning off the carbon deposits inside the engone...flooring it is not a good idea nor is it good for the engine. The better way to clean the engine is to take it out for a 30 min drive at hi-way speeds.

look behing the power steering pump. it is round with one set of wires coming out of it. you have to loosen the clamp on the throttle body housing and remove 2 bolts from the black cover picking up on that move it out of the way you will have a better view of the valve. it has 2 bolts holding it down.

if you are talking about the check engine light still being on after servicing the EGR valve, it will not go off on its own. it will need to be reset by a OBD II scanner. you can take the vehicle to autozone and they will reset the light for you. after the reset, drive the car normally to make sure that the problem has been fixed, and that the light doesnt come on again. it is a good idea to have it checked one more time before you take your vehicle in for state inspection. IT CERTAINLY CAN AND WILL RESET ITSELF AFTER AWHILE OF DRIVING

Answerwell like the other guy said Mazda is ford, but is not the same, what u need to do is take the throttle body out, buy a new gasket before u do that, don't put the old one back in there it my leak and cause more problems, after u remove the throotle body, look in it and u are going to see to holes inside of it, what is happening is that does hole are plug with carbon and that is why the egr doesnt have flow, u need to by some cleaner and clean all inside the holes, i use a small screwdrive like a pocket screwdrive and bend it enough to get in there, if u have air blow in them but carefull it will slpash back in your face, that should solve your problem Answercheck vacuum lines and solenoids...all are located at the top rear of the engine AnswerRemove your throttle body and you will see a hole about the size of your index finger on the left of the intake passage. It will be plugged with carbon and oily deposits from the PCV valve. Clean this thouroughly, replace the throttle body gasket and any wiring, vacuum lines you removed! The EGR valve is a round "valve" (has one hose coming from top, one from side) that is on top of the throttle body. Actually, it is bolted with two bolts to the rear of the throttle body. If you don't know what a throttle body is, look for the pulley that moves when you press the gas pedal (with engine off). If i remember correctly....there is no egr valve on a 2000 Camry. What happens if petrol is put in a diesel car?
There are a few different views on what happens if petrol is put into a diesel car, ranging from "this is horrible and will ruin the engine" through "if diesel is put in a petrol engine, it will run but misfire" and "it does depend on the make and model of the car" to, most commonly "petrol will kill a diesel engine; don't start it, have it towed to your mechanic, and have him drain the tank and the fuel lines."
Modern diesel engines use the diesel fuel as lubricant for the high pressure pump. The engine itself will run on petrol but it is only a short period of time before the pump is damaged. Petrol is a poor lubricant in comparison to diesel fuel. Generally when this happens the entire fuel system needs to be flushed to remove the petrol and the metal debris from the damaged high pressure pump, then the pump and any other damaged components need to be changed.
Additional damage can also come from pre-detonation; diesel engines run far higher compression ratios than petrol engines, this is due to, in a simplified manner, diesel being less volatile than petrol. The effect is that the petrol/air mix may detonate 'early' i.e as the piston is rising during the compression phase, before the normal ignition and combustion phase. This essentially forces the piston to go back down early and attempts to turn the engine over in reverse. The huge additional forces generated can and almost certainly will be catastrophic for most internal components.
Given the huge potential for damage to your car's engine, it might be annoying but it makes sense to have the car towed or transported to a garage, to have the tank drained and then for the system to be checked through by a mechanic.
