Rear window on 1988 bronco doesnt go up how do you access the arm that controls the window?
Look on the inside of the talegate for a panel that is screwed on. Remove the screws and you should be able to get inside.
How to remove the electric window motor on a ford focus?
I just had my regulator go out in my driver side and it sucked...the dealer said it would be anywhere between 350 and 400 dollars to fix...i found the part online for 80 bucks and did it within an hour...all you do is take off the door panel remove foam (plastic, rubber) weather guard & disconnect the wires for locks and window...remove speaker...there then will be 5 bolts (usually gold) where the regulator is remove these bolts....there are clamps holding the window to the regulator loosen then pull window out through the top of door...when window is free just shimmy the regulator out of the door on the bottom left side (there should be a decent hole to get it through...) once out put new regulator in and place window in new clamps on regulator tighten bolt back together and put panel back on....it sounds like alot but it's really simple once you get going plus it saves you about 300 or so dollars good luck!!!!
If there was a short in the power window wiring on a 1974 corvette could it have damaged the relay?
no it should be ok because your fuse would have blown and protected the eletrical system.
How do you repair a 2001 Expedition driver's side power window that has come off the track?
I've had the same problem. I had to get the window back up so snow wouldn't get in. then I taped it up. Glad I did this! I need the window up to put it back on track.
1. remove the door panel. You have a screw behind the triangle part. you can remove the plastic using a flat head screw driver, then the screw.
2. remove the door handle housing. then lift on the door handle, you will see a bolt in there, that needs to come out.
3. remove the light housing at the bottom of the door. Remove the screw in there. Be sure to place these aside and know where they go. You'll need to put these back on when you're done.
4. remove the window/mirror/lock housing on the door. These housings can be removed by using a flat head screw driver in the front of it, then pop the rest off with your hands.
5. If window is up and taped, lower the sliding brackets to mid door so you can remove the clamps that were holding the window on track.
6. remove the sliding brackets. You need to clean these two brackets very well. I used a razor blade (with safety in mind) and sand paper. Be sure not to rub out the four nubs. You need these to help the silicon stay on the window.
7. Once you have the brackets cleaned, clean the window to where they are going to attach.
8. If you made it this far pat yourself on the back.
9. replace the two brackets back onto the rotor, but do it snug and leave room of mobility because the window won't sit on it correctly otherwise.
10. fill the brackets with silicone. Let sit for about 5 min. to let it settle. while that is settling you can put some silicone on the window as well.
11. Now comes the fun part. You will need two people for this.....raise the rotor up about 6 inches, while your helper lowers the window into the brackets...You will be guiding each other. Once you have the window in the brackets you can tighten the brackets bolts.
12. Raise the window up all the way, while your helper presses down on the window.
13. Now you and your helper need to work together. helper needs to push down on the window while you lower the window. ONLY lower it half way of the door. Replace the door frame by doing the opposite order from when you took it off.
14. Now you need to leave the window like that for about 5 hours. I left mine for 24 hours in this position. I taped clear plastic on the open area to keep the snow/bugs out.
15. once it has cured you can raise your window up all the way. If it's summer you should be able to have normal activity in a couple of days. If its winder I'd leave for a couple of weeks. After that it should be right on track and the window should be working correctly.
I am a 40yr female and this was my first project. I have not had any problems with the window since.
What has happened if the power window doesn't go back up on a 98 Breeze?

Which fuse handles the Power Windows in a 2004 Jeep Liberty?
It's in the owner's manual, but the fuse is in the Power Distribution Center under the hood in front of the battery. There is a diagram showing all fuses under the lid.
Your window security button is on. You probably hit it without knowing. Just look the button that is by the window controls and press it. That will fix your problem. Why do I know this? Because it just happened to me and I called my friend Eddie and he told me what to do! : - ) Janna
How do you remove the door panel of a 2001 Sonoma does not have power windows?
You need to remove the window hand crank with a window hand crank removal tool.
Hi there, I don't know when you posted this and you may have found it already. Its located at the back of the drivers footwell against the firewall, gearbox tunnel side, its in an envelope type holder with five wires going to it. Pull it out of the holder, its almost the size of a cigarette packet. I don't know how much the replacement is as I've had the same problem and only just removed it, but I did check on line with the usual auto stores but they don't show it. Good luck buddy, Stu
Hi there. Stu is correct. However, this relay is a "dealer only" item. This is not the problem with your window. I just replaced the motor in my friend's 2001 Firebird. The motor was the problem the whole time as she was having the same symptoms as you are experiencing. You can find the motor at Autozone for $53. Lifetime warranty. The trick is getting just the motor out but not the regulator. You must drill out three rivets that are holding the motor to the regulator. The new motor will have three or more bolt and nut assemblys for easier installation. Let me know if this helps and good luck!! - Josh
Also check out your power window motor. Mine did this on my drivers side and then after a while you would have to wait longer and longer to be able to move it. Finally after time it would go down, but not up at all. I replaced the power window motor and never had that problem again! - Sheldon
Is the motor getting power? is the regulator working? The rear windows will not go all the way down. It is a child protection thing. They will only roll down half way.
How to replace rear view mirror on Acura MDX?

2002 firebird conv window goes up and down real slow and stops every half inch?
Try lubricating window driveline and if no go, replace motor if all other parts are in good shape.
more than likely it is the motor its self, If the motor moves it then stops then moves a little more than stops it is the motor.
How do you replace a passenger side window motor in a 1985 regency 98?
Disconect battery take panel off 2 screws under door handle unpop the tabbs on bottom like 12 unscrew manual door lock left loose then unplug electrical switches then the drilling part drill out like 4 rivets loosen up 2 bolts on glass then fish it out then put new one in by bolting or rivets and put every thing back in
this is common - I have a 98. Your motor works but there is a long "worm screw" that has deattached from a bracket. The bracket attaches to the bottom of the window.
here's what I did...
carefully pull off the inside door skin. there are plastic body clips holding it on, three large screws and one small one near the front.
then there are two control arms that attach to your interior door opener handle - one for opening, one for the lock. remove plastic clips that hold them in place then pop out the control arms. Now you can pull the door skin right off.
oh, you also have to unplug your power switch from the armrest.
ok, so you have the panel off right? if you don't, I;ll wait here for a min while you do that.
ok your back?
now you need to tear away the white vapour barrier - its stuck on with black stuff - peel it back and make sure you don't get it on your clothes.
now you should see the inspection ports-with the window half way down you should see the bottom of the window.
now you need to tape the window in the half way up position other wise it will fall down. I used 2 inch wide scotch tape - don't use duct tape cause the glue is hard to come off afterwards. tape the glass to the vertical post at the back and tape along the bottom horizontal edge.
ok - see the bracket at the bottom of the window? take that off.
now unscrew the vertical track
also unscrew the power motor.
all you need to do is get the track out of the inspection port so that you can access the worm screw.
Here's the ingenious part that saves you hundreds!!
I took that bracket and using a chisel, I chiseled off the plastic from the steel (the plastic is the reason it busted in the first place)
I drilled two holes in the steel part where the plastic teeth would have been-make sure it lines up where it used to be on the track - mark where the holes are to go in relation with the track.
tehn you need a couple of cotter pins - yep that's right cotter pins.
The cotter pins wrap around the grooves in the worm screw at the end. Make sure they are tight right into the grooves cause when the screw going back into the track, you don't want there to be any unnecessary friction.
now power the screw back into the track [actually first I sprayed the track, the hose where the screws comes from and everything with WD40.]
now put the bracket back onto the cotter pins which should now be sticking out from the track. Bend them over and cut off the excess.
put everything back the way you took it apart and BOBS YOUR UNCLE!!
savings between 150-300 for the entire regulator assembly and about 200 for labor! PLUS TAXES.
Now take the money you saved and put it into an RESP for your kids.

How do you replace power window motors?
Remove the old one and put the new one in. Extremely difficult job. -Long answer: Remove the door panel. Find the motor and drill out the rivets or get the old motor out by any means necessary. Unplug the motor
Bolt in your new window motor and plug it back it. Before you replace the door panel, turn your car back on and make sure that the window motor is working. If it works replace the door panel. If not check the fit of the motor and the wiring.
takes about 3 hours your first time if you have all the tools you need and know how to get the door panel off.
How to replace driver side electric motor for window on 1989 Lincoln town car?
Typically it is not the motor, but the window regulator that has failed. In any event, the process is the same for all four doors (Aproximately) There is a comprehensive process to be located at www.lincolnsonline.com. Pictures, text, and all. I would add tht after replacing the nylon parts in the regulator, you pack it with white lithium grease, grease the cable, and grease all contact surfaces where the cable travels on the regulator. Had to do this to all 4 windows on my '90 towncar. Let me know if this helps Good luck avtel@cswnet.com
Your driver's side window of your 1998 Passport stopped working is it the switch or the fuse.?
I have a '99 passport and the driver side did the same thing, luckily i have a good friend that is an electrical engineer and he was able to spot and solder a small break in the wiring on the switch card, you could take it to a computer place, that's all i have for you-Drew
How do you repair the power window on passenger side in a 1994 Ford Mustang?
i had the same problem with my 94 mustang. the power window motor is riveted into the door frame. if your window is intermittent, than that means the motor itself is going bad. the way to fix this is to get another motor and take it to a service department, or take the car to your local ford dealer's service department and have a professional install it for you. Go to http://www.lincolnsonline.com/tech.html. There are three articles on this for the Lincoln. Ford tends to use the same stuff for various brands so this may help. You can also do a search for this topic on Lincolns and find a couple of other illustrated, step-by-step procedures.
