Sometimes an electronically controlled (or manually for that matter) mirror will become displaced due to a bump on the housing, which allows a certain amount of movement. This is so the mirror doesn't get snapped off if it gets bumped.
When this happens the control mechanism at the back of the mirror is dislodged and must be coaxed back into place, it's not too difficult, just have a good look at it and work out what you need to do.
All windows do not work for 1998 mercury mountaineer?
Either a fuse or a broken wire. On my 1998 Mountaineer the wire broke inside the boot that runs from the body to the door. The fix was to cut plastic tie that holds the boot up, pull the boot down and find the broken wire. It is the green wire with a black stripe on it. I spliced a piece of wire in and everything worked again. This wire is the power wire that goes to the control module where you roll the windows up or down.

Why won't the drivers side power window work in a 2002 ford f-150 4x4?
it is very likely that your door panel window switch is bad. mine didn't last but six months and i have heard others having problems with these switches, as well. only thing to do is order a new switch from your Ford dealer as these are dealer item only. won't find them at local auto parts store. also, it's not that hard to remove your door panel and replace the switch (or switches). don't know really why the window switches go out my best guess is that the contacts go bad or stop making contact when used. good luck.

Rover 75 WATER IN FRONT FOOTWELL WINDOWS MISTY?
If your car is a Ford Taurus or Sabel there is a known defect... There is a technical service bulletin for water leaks on the passenger's side of the Taurus/Sable. Ford has come up with a revised cowl panel weather strip extension to fix this problem. In addition, sealer needs to be put around the fresh air inlet of the heater system. Apparently, Ford has found that water runs through the heater box and exits through the heater blower motor into the vehicle cabin on the passenger's side. Go to a Ford dealership to have the problem corrected. If the vehicle is still under warranty, it will be covered. Otherwise, you will have to pay for the work. Success to you. My car has pollen filter in the air intake system which blocked up and and developed the same symptons with water leaking into the passenger footwell. It is a five minute job to replace this filter.

How do you change a window motor in a 1995 Chevrolet Astro van?
Be sure to read out the wires going to the motor. The motor may not be bad, unless the signs are obvious like grinding. A banging in the door isn't necessarily a bad motor, just the glass coming loose from the rail or a rail arm out of the rail slide or a bolt has fallen out. Troubleshoot the problem with the panel off before you replace parts.
Remove the door panel. There are screws in the arm rest. Tape the glass to keep it in the up position and in place. Disconnect the electrical input. Drill out the rivets holding the motor to the door plate. Make sure you have fasteners and a means to install them. disconnect the rail from the motor input shaft. remove the motor. Installation is opposite the removal.
Get a friend to use a plumbers helper or plunger to stick on the door and pull it off and see if it is possible to pull the door skin out enough to free the window.

99 jeep Cherokee radio and power windows not working?
Check your fuses .... BUT most likely the problem is the wires that go through the DRIVERS door jamb (inside the black accordian looking thing) ... from opening and closing the door over the years, the wires break. I have a 2000 Cherokee and first the drivers door speaker went out (I ran a new wire to fix that) and then months later my power windows and the dash board lights stopped working .... I have not fixed mine yet so don't know if it is one wire or several. I read another post that says it is the ground wire but doesn't tell what color that is ... ?? .... I think it is more than one wire though since people don't all have the same EXACT problem (your windows and radio ... mine wndows and dash lights) .... Probably have to test each wire with a meter and then splice and run new wires through the door jamb to fix the broken ones.
Remove inner door panel, see if window is off track, or if motor is bad. After I removed panel I would unplug the motor and plug it back in you may have a bad connection, check switches also. You may be able to move window up by hand from inside door.

How do you roll up passenger window in 1997 Camaro with a faulty power lock switch?
The lock switch has nothing to do with the window. If you have power windows and the window switch is bad, you can operate the window by jumping the wires on the switch plug. On my 91 Camaro RS, the window regulator (motor) stopped working. I bought a new regulator at Napa and replaced it. Replacing the window regulator requires drilling out the factory rivets. IMPORTANT! Before you start, you should drill a hole through the door and gear then install a temporary nut & bolt to lock the window in the up postion. This will prevent the window from falling while your fingers are near the gear.
How can you get your drivers window up when the switch is not working on a 99 Malibu?
Had the same problem my self last week. Take a hot wire and a ground and jump out the switch. Changes are the master switch went bad on the door panel. Ken
Not likely a fuse problem, but it wouldn't hurt to check the fuses, eh? More often than not, when one window stops working it is the window motor that has failed. However, it is possible that there is another type of failure, such as the window regulator, or a bad connection somewhere. I am not aware of any common window related problems with the 2002 models, is anybody?
How do you repair an electric window on the driver's side that will not go down on a Ford F-150?
I am a Audi/VW specialist so I could be wrong but attleast you got an answer to help... I have a 97 F-150 and found that the window's controll module thinks the window is already down. I you can get the window to go down Then you will notice the window relay will stop clicking when the window is all the way down. The problem is that the window thinks it is down... I am told and read in research that the controll module is down. The only thing I need to know is is in the motor or is there a separate computer? I also found out this happens frequently.
