I loved my trooper [87 4 door]! Got 175000 from it then it got too crazy. I hope you have the Hayes manual-its worth every cent. The adj for idle on the 2.3 manual 5 speed, CARBed is a simple adjustment nut or screw type thing very close to the throttle asslembly on top of the carb body. I cant remember but if 87 was the year they started with the automatic trans and the fuel inj then I dont know as well. But-if you do have the carbed 2.3 just follow the gas pedal cable with the engine running [someone gicing it a little gas helps] .Follow the cable to the carb and you'll see two adj screwss just like on an old mini-bike or lawn mower. Sorry if you know this and your asking about injected 2.3s but I think the troopers stayed very simple, lean, practical, and easy to deal with until the early 90s when they strted to compete with akll the other piece of cr*p SUV that were really designed for grocery shopping and picnics-not work. I've had a similar problem on my 98 civic ex. There's two resistors wired to the fan control. One for speeds 1 and 2 and another for speeds 3 and 4. I suspect the one controling the 1 and 2 speeds has blown.

This matters if a 1500, 2500, or 3500...

sound,s more like a speaker connection problem. than your amp. check your speaker connections first. to make sure they are plugged in all the way. and fit tight on the speaker. it they are . and it is still cutting out. you may need to trace the speaker wires. and see if they are getting pinched in the door jam. that is a usual culpret for speakers cutting out.

Use a 12 Volt test light 2 make sure U have 12 volts & a good ground @ the motor connection-IF u do, the motor(if good) will run.IF no runnie then down 2 your local parts store U go.

I've had this problem in my 1991 Escort. Try this, replace your spark plug wires and/or check your pcv valve it could be clogged or not even connected to valve cover. if replacing your spark plugs and checking your PCV valve didn't work check for a vacum leak in your intake and exaust system

Take the car back to the dealer. Push in on the oddometer trip reset button, turn the ignition on, and hold the button until the display goes to 00.0.

Open it, remove the battery and place the car remote in a bag with Silica Gel to dry it out completely.

Replace the battery with a NEW one and put it all back together.

Yes, they fit I have them on mine both the rims and tires...It does make a scrubbing noise on some turns and I have also been told that they cause the truck to burn more gas and it causes more wear and tear on the front end...I haven't really experienced any problems with mine but this is what I was advised by a mechanic. My truck really stands out with those Ram rims and tires and I get a lot of complements.
