first check to see if your getting voltage to your fuel pump. go to the connector at the rear of the truck. check voltage. should have 12 volts. if you do have 12 volts your pump has gone bad. this happens some times. if you don`t have voltage find your fuel pump relay. (right side kick panel) see if it comes on. on some models the relay is built into the computer box. if it is in the computer box the computer box needs to be replaced. also check to see if your fuel pump fuze is blown.
Why would a diesel car struggle to start with new battery?
Possibly one or more bad glow plugs. try replacing your glow plugs.
Why will the starter fore your ranger work?
Starter problems can be caused by several things: Weak battery because of battery failure or alternator that is not charging the battery. Falty connection between the battery and the starter. Solenoid failure or bad connection on the solenoid. Starter failure. Neutral lockout switch failure. Bad connection between keyswitch and starter.
SOMETIMES WHEN THE IGNITION CONTROL MODULE GOES OR IS GOING BAD IT WOULD CAUSE THESE PROBLEMS IT MAY CAUSE MISSFIRE/MISSING,AND OR HARD OR NO STARTING. '''THIS OFTEN HAPPENS WHEN THE IGNITION CONTROL MODULE GETS HOT'''. AFTER SITTING FOR A WHILE IT'LL COOL OFF AND WORK AGAIN. IF THE BATTERY WAS BAD BY LETTING THE VEHICLE SIT FOR A WHILE WOULD REALLY MAKE NO DIFFRENCE. BATTERIES DON'T GET CHARGE JUST SITTING.(VEHICLE NEEDS TO BE ON) HOW DOES THE VEHICLE CRANKS.NORMAL,SLOW,NO CRANK?
Firstly does it only have problems starting on a hill? if so it could be the fuel. if its regularly not starting then its either the battery, the wiribg or the alternator http://www.autozone.com/servlet/UiBroker?UseCase=S001&UserAction=viewSimpleDiagInfo&Parameters=info
++ANSWER++ First I have to ask a funny question... Are your dash lights on? It sounds funny, but on the 1997 Blazer there are certain defects. I also have a 1997 Blazer and I had to remove the cover under the steering wheel so I can pull or move the wires down under on the right hand side. You will know you have it right when the key is switched on, and you have dash lights. The 1997 Blazer will crank and crank, but be hard to start without adjusting the wires. I sat for 1 1/2 hours one day. This is a faulty ignition switch, that needs replaced. If not replaced it will become worse over time. The 97 will shut off when you use the wipers or turn signals... not good to have it shut off when your making a left turn in front of oncoming traffic! I have gotten quite good at 1) Shift to Neutral 2) Wiggle wires 3) Switch ignition to restart Blazer 4) shift back to drive and GET. If you go to the ntha.dot.gov site you will se there are many 1997 Blazers with this same type of problem and others... Good Luck!
What is the firing ordering of a 20 liter duel head cam?
Without a lot more info on what motor you have it is impossible to tell you what your firing order is, and i would only google it anyway (which i guess you can do yourself)
So instead i have given you a way to work it out for any motor.
I'm not sure if you meant to say 20Lt or 2.0Lt so i am going to answer the question as it was written, however the method is the same for a 2.0lt as a 20lt.
First take a piece of paper and down the left side write the number of cylinders you have, ie. write the numbers 1 to 12 if its a V12 or 1 to 10 if its a V10 ect.
Second go remove the rocker covers off the motor so that you can see the top of the valve stems (don't disassemble the valve train though)
Now hand crank the motor so that piston 1 has its intake valve just beginning to open.
On your piece of paper you can now write a 1 next to the 1 already on your piece of paper.
Now continue to hand crank the motor and watch carefully for the next intake valve to open. work out which piston it is and write its number next to the number 2 on your piece of paper.
Continue in this fashion and eventually when you fill up the second column on you piece of paper you will have your firing order read from top down in that column.
Now lastly before you do anything else, go down and by the service manual for you motor / car and do a lot of reading before you go pulling stuff apart again.
Your question demonstrates that you do not yet have the requisite knowledge to do more than top up your water and oil, but thankfully that's easy to fix.
Regards,
Nico
Where is the starter relay located in a Skoda Felicia?
The starter relay is in the fuse case under the codriver's cabinet. The exact is the one that contains the numbers 38, 72, 36 45, 52. Alien
== == You have probably made a mess of the on-board computer. Cutting wires and then rejoining them causes the computer to react badly. You need a professional automotive electrical specialist, one who only does car electrical system work. He will charge you by the hour to first diagnose the problem, then to make it right again. This is the penalty that you will have to pay for trying to to it yourself, without the proper knowledge and skills. It will cost you money, but hopefully this will be a big lesson for you. Leave the skilled stuff to the pros, who know what they are doing, and do the simple stuff like an oil change, or car wash, your self.
You need to do a little investigating. Run it for a while to get the engine warmed up, then shut it off somewhere that you have some test equipment and help available. Make sure it won't start, then spray a little starting fluid into the air intake while a helpe tries to start the engine. If it starts briefly you know that there is a problem with fuel delivery and you can start checking out the filter, fuel pump, relays and electrical circuits that feed the fuel pump. Remember that even NEW fuel pumps can have a problem so don't rule out that one. If it WON'T start with the help of starting fluid, pull a sparkplug wire and connect it to a spare sparkplug. Set the spare sparkplug with the wire attached on a metal part of the engine and have your helper try to start it again. If you don't have a nice, strong spark, you know there is a problem in the ignition somewhere. If there isn't a spark, check the coil input. Connect one end of a volt meter to ground and the other end to the coil input. One side of the coil input should have constant voltage, the other side should be intermittent while the engine is cranked by your helper. If you're getting voltage TO the coil and intermittent voltage on the other side, but no spark, you probably have a bad coil that fails when it gets hot.
95 blazer wont start but will turn module good fuel filterpump good runs off starter fluid?
if this is a 4.3 the fuel pump needs to be checked there needs to be at least 55 psi coming from the pump there is a valve on driver side of motor at the back of the throttle body looks like the top of a valve stem , you can get a pressure tester at auto parts store, if the pump is bad, replace pump and sending unit if you don't the pump will go bad again.
Do you need to change the spark plugs with every oil change?
It's a good idea. Spark plugs keep your engine happy and will make sure you have no trouble starting your car. Also, if you do it yourself, you want to make sure they are 'pre-gapped' or make sure you know how to gap them yourself.
Why won't a 2000 Kia Sephia start after it was used to jump another car?
YOUR battery might be marginal and starting to go bad, and by jumping somebody else's car, you are probably draining your battery. Put in interstate in there and you would have no problems!!
speed control sensor is bad
I had this problem, there was a build-up of carbon in the fuel system and the Oxygen regulator. There is a chemical the garage used that cleaned it out and disolved it. The truck runs great now, and have not had that problem since. They said it is supposed to be done every 15,000 miles or so.
It's most likely the electrical system, and it sounds like the moisture is causing a short somewhere.
Why did your 97 1500 dodge sputter then stall and not start again?
This could be a fuel system or ignition system problem. Listen to fuel tank at the filler door with cap off and have someone turn the key on. You should hear the electric whine noise of the fuel pump for 2 seconds. Turn the ignition key back off and wait 10 seconds to be able to repeat the 2 second prime. If you didn't hear it run then it most likely has a faulty fuel pump relay or fuel pump. If you did hear it running then add a couple of gallons of gas to see if maybe the fuel tank sending unit is giving a false reading to the fuel gauge. If this checks out ok then check for spark at a plugwire on the engine. If it has good spark and fuel then you may have computer issues or engine mechanical problems in which case you should take the vehicle in to a repair facility. Oh, always start with checking all fuses on the vehicle. This is free and easy to do and could save alot of wasted time. Hope some of this helps with your problem.
You may have some gummed up injectors. See if it will run with a little starting fluid. If it does, be suspicious of the fuel and the injectors. If everything else seems ok, and it fires briefly with the starting fluid, try getting all of the old fuel out, change the filter then put a couple gallons of fresh fuel back with some injector cleaner mixed in it. You may have to try it a few times with starting fluid, but if it doesn't fire then, remove the injectors and see if you can have them cleaned. Sitting for a year is very hard on the fuel system and rubber parts of a vehicle.
Why does your rover 75 diesel refuse to start when the engine is warm?
It could be down to your Canshaft sensor, Which will start when cold and Hot but when you have run for a short time (3 or 4 minutes) Look on this site its very helpful :- http://forums.mg-rover.org/index.php cheers Carl
Hi, Could be the fuel pump if it just started or the fuse or relay. Steve H.
Check the ignition switch and the fusable link. Other than that, I can't think of anything without looking at it.
One suggestion would be, don't replace parts until you know what's wrong. Use a code scanner to see what the computer has stored. It probably knows what's wrong and is willing to tell you. If you have compression and the engine wasn't physicall damaged, it could be fuel or ignition. You'll have to use some diagnostic skills to figure out which.
Take the distributor cap off. After you do that check to see if the rotor cap is spinning and if it isn't then the timing chain snapped. Also check to see if your motor has compression.
We have a 2000 Dodge Neon and it came with one key. We had extras made to carry since I have a habit of locking the keys in the car. Soon after buying the car I tried starting the car, the engine started, ran a few seconds and quit. I tried again, and the same thing happened. I called the car salesman and he asked if I was using the original key, as it has a chip in it and he said if I keep trying with the wrong key the car will not start, and it will cost about $100. to have it rekeyed. I tried with the original key and the car started and ran fine. Another time I was out and got back in the car and it wouldn't start. I called my husband at work and asked him to come and see why the car wouldn't run. He asked what key I was using. He was right, I changed keys and the car started right up. Hope this is your problem and you can start the car without getting the key fixed. Grace
1994 Lincoln town car will the PCM or ignition control module cause the car to start then not start?
Its the hole arm that holds the fuelpump, theres is elets. wireing
