What I would suggest is getting graphite oil.Put it on the key,then unlock and lock the doors.You can also use stuff like WD-40,Liquid Wrench,or Ballistol.

(IMPROVE) Graphite can be EVIL for locks because some folks put to much in. Don't use petrolium products like WD-40 and such as a lube as it dries to a sticky substance and attracts/holds on to dust and dirt. It works well to get a lock turning though. Eventually the springs might get clogged. Use a teflon or silicone base product or something like Tri-flow with PTFE.

Try using the remote that came with the vehicle. If keys lost or locked in the car then the best thing to do is call a tow truck or insurance.

First. take the old one out. Replace with New one.

Its your wires they are not connected properly you have what it is called a short or a not connected wire this will cause other problems like flickering lights and other electrical problems

get a pair of pliers and grab the cable attached to the the hood popper and pull while pulling the hood lever it should pop open

I have this problem. I was taught to stand by the front, driver's tire with the driver door wide open. Reach inside the car with one hand to hit the hood release while pulling up on the hood where the hood ends and the windshield begins (otherwords, the top of the hood) with the other hand. Lifting it up as much as you can will somehow pop the hood. Then, walk around to the front of the car and procede to open the hood as usual. I've been told that the hood shocks are worn. You can also have someone lift the hood while you hit the hood release.

what is wrong with the door latch? will it not open/latch? what year is the vehicle? all of these are needed to answer your question.

In the glove box as are all older trackers

If you are referring to the rear door of a 2000 Windstar, I had a similar problem. The outer latch seemed as if it was no longer connected. By removing two screws located about 4 inches from the floor on each side of the rear inside panel, and two 3/8 inch nut driver screws at the bottom center handle, you are now able to carefully remove the inside trim panel. Be careful because it's all held in place by other plastic pieces, so go slowly. Upon inspection, I found my outer door release handle had snapped and needed a replacement. It was very tedious and difficult to remove the handle assembly from the vehicle. You may want to consider seeing a mechanic at a scrap yard who may sell and install the part for you. The good news is the part is easily found. I bought a replacement for $35.00 but I would never put it in myself again. If the problem goes deeper, and it's the latch itself, good luck! That was a $400.00 part and is only available at a dealership!

Call a local locksmith and ask them what it would cost to change just the lock cylinders. You would then get new keys but your remote opener would still be the same. *GOING TO A CAR DEALER WOULD BE CHEEPER.

you must remove the taillight, interior from the right rear side, take the nuts off that hold the outside panel on that is over the track that the door rides on, on bolt the roller from the top and bottom of the door, slide the door backwards toward the rear and the door will come off with the center roller attached to the door. If you can roll down the window, you can open the door with a slim Jim or some skinny metal rod with a curved end. It's even easier if you can push the door panel away from the frame a little bit so you can see down inside between the door panel and the frame. You can't open your door either because the latch is stuck in the locked position or because the handles don't cause the latch to move correctly. The former can be fixed by pushing down on the connecting rod that goes from the exterior lock into the latch, the latter can be fixed by moving the connecting rod that goes to the interior door handle back toward the door handle.

Some have suggested that disconnecting the battery will somehow allow the locks to disengage. Not sure how that's supposed to work.

You can only get this feature if you get the comfort access system that the new 07's have.

Mine does that if the window is barley open!

probably a bad sensor, just take it to the dealer to have it checked

Open it from the inside! Then remove the inside panel and adjust the linkage. there is a spring clip holding the handle to the rod and if it slips, the handle won't work. My dealer wanted 100 bucks to replace the handle. just needed adjustment. And maybe something to keep it from slipping.

Had the same problem on a 96 Grand Voyager. As a temporary measure, I learned that if you turn the key just partially to the left (counter clock wise) and then pull up on the handle it will open. I'm sure this is just a temporary solution.

the cable is either stretched or broke

twist a thin cion between the 2 halves of the transmitter near the key ring.

try pulling on the handle while using a screw driver to actuate it.

First remove your door panel and interior lock module modular with T30 screwdriver. Then proceed to remove the window mechanism and your interior panel. A T20 screwdriver to remove the interior panel and lock module from the inside of door. Disconnect your control module and replace with a new.

Before the key will come out of the lock.

The Keyway should be in the vertical position, the same position it was in when

the key was put into the lock.

Caution:

Be very careful not to damage the dust shutter door

at the entrance to the keyway.

It is held in place by a small hinge pin and spring.

If it breaks, remove the parts from the keyway.

Locksmiths: Have experience and tools for broken key removal.

AAA Automobile Club locksmiths, may be a good choice.

You need to turn the wheel (about 1/4 inch) to relieve the pressure while you turn the ignition.

inside the rear door, which you can access from the car through back seats or over back seat in a SW, there is a black plastic cover which juts out from the door at the bottom - there is a small hole in the cover ... I used a tent peg which I pushed firmly into the hole - this releases the lock. hope this helps

i don't believe the above paragraph is correct, what i had to do when the back door was stuck was there is 1 screw holding the door card to the door undo the screw through the seal on the door, take the card off the door unplug the speaker, then remove the foam insulate when you do you can see right in to the inside of the door, when you look into the door look at the inside of the lock which is at the back of the door you will see a brass handle which if you pull down will release the door hope that helps it only took me about 20mins to do the whole job

do you mean the door or ignition?

assuming you know how to remove the switch on drivers door.unplug wiring harness from switch.next use a 12 volt test light (inexpensive from local parts store)clip test light to good ground then touch point of tester to pins on harness plug end until light lites ,this is your hot feed to switch(if you cant find a hot feed make sure you have a good ground. to do this probe a known hot point ex.fuse panel drivers side until tester lites)now that you have found the hot feed wire to switch make a jumper wire jump from hot to other pins on harness, note which wire unlocks and which locks.basicly doing the same function as the switch.
