Remove the door panel, find and repair the lock linkgage.

Remove the grille by unscrewing 4 screws, #20 torx. Gently pull grill off toward the front of the car. May need to bend plastic grille slightly. Pulls out toward front of car, not up, down or to the side. You can now reach the hood latch. Push on hood latch to the drivers side with large screwdriver to release latch.

remove the panel from the inside of the rear hatch door and check to make sure the latch mechenism is secure if not push or pull the leads to open hatch door then try to reconnect them

I have an 87 and the lever is close to the drivers side door in front of the fuse box. Also under the hood is the AC, Windshield washer fluid container, the radiator, the radiator fluid container, the brake fluid container, spare tire and car jack.

I had an 84 that had a lever under the dash. You pulled it and it popped. It opens reverse. Grab it by the windshield and pull up. Not much room but carries the spare tire and has a spot for the removeable sunroof if your car has that option.

The best way to test a door lock is to locate the wiring for the door lock usually in door boot or kick panel. Use a test light with a probe and poke each wire until the door lock is activated. How ever be sure to they are not vacumm locks

Nothing, Just stand there and watch. Or use super glue, it'll stick your car door latch to the card Forever. Don't worry, If those two don't work, buy a new car, break the door latch off of that and attach it to the old car. If it still doesn't work, borrow your wifes car. If it still doesn't solve your Problem. Then try driving without a door. If it Still doesn't work, Then you have problems dude

It depends on the make and model of the alarm and what features you want. Some alarm systems have integrated relays for features like starter/ignition kill, and power door locks while others require external relays.

Relays are electrically actuated switches that handle large amounts of current. Alarms typically use relays to lock and unlock doors, switch current for starter and ignition systems on and off, and so on.

Diodes are basically one-way valves for electricity. They are used to insure that current travels in one direction. These are typically used in alarm installations to electrically isolate one sensor from another, preventing false alarms and other weird electrical gremlins.

As for whether you need relays and diodes for power door locks, here's a simple rule of thumb:

1. If the car already has power door locks, you can interface the alarm with the factory power locking system.

2. If the car does not have power locking, you will need to add the wiring, relays and actuators.

3. Diodes are not necessarily needed for power door locks, but it depends on the specific make and model of the alarm and the car.

Take a thin metal ruler or a thin screw driver and try to push in the latch. This will bend the latch so it'll open, then when it's fixed, you just bend it back.

On many more recent cars (since 1985) the first aid is to open the trunk, locate the tank cover cable, and ease back on it whilst trying to lift the cap. If that opens it, feel for cover spring action; the spring is on the side opposite the latch and often fatigues in half. These springs are almost impossible to find. If the cover won't open it may be warped due to a zealous station attendant etc. Usually you can unwarp it with care not to foul up the hinge.

Otherwise, the cable has slipped on its clamp at one end or the other. Usually the cable needs to be replaced by a mechanic.

Make sure that the door hinges are adjusted properly and the door shuts tight. The latch pin and catch need to be checked as well. The most common cause is misalignment.

The first thing is to lubricate the keyhole with something like WD40 or a liquid base graphite solution usually available at home depot or auto part stores.

If that does not work,you need to get the Vehicle Identification Number or V.I.N.

and contact the dealer of the brand vehicle. They will be able to give you the key I.D.

Car door locks that won't turn can be due to dirty cylinder and wafers, corrosion, or a worn out key. Lubrication usually works.

There are also some cars such as Toyota's that have split wafers. Honda Sidewinder keys also can have wafer issues that a locksmith can fix fairly easily. Locksmiths with a shop can usually look at the car and determine the problem.

How are the hinges? If the door drops down when opened, then the hinges are worn out. If the hinges are fine, then adjustment to the striker/bolt assembly is needed. This is very simple, and once you take a look at it, you'll see what to do.

if your'e lucky get under the car and reach up between the fan shroud and the motor, feel around for the latch and where the cable attaches to the latch, grab the cable with pliers and pull away from the latch if the space is too small the only other way i know of involves damaging your grill best of luck with this one =o)

Common problem with Crv's. You will have to remove the door panel by removing handle screws and then screws which hold the door handle. Remove the panel by using a screwdriver. Once removed take off the plastic and spray nut looser on the inside of the door when the lock parts are. Use the automatic lock button to open and close. It may take awhile but it will free itself.

Some vehicles will not let you lock the door when it is opened. This is a safety procedure ensuring you don't lock your keys in the car, get locked out.

I need to know how to repair the power lock on my corola dx 95 rear right door

the door panel must be removed there is a electronic lock solenoid that controls the lock eods to door latch. if it grinds or makes noise replace solenoid if there is no noie check for a 12volt signal at plgs to lock solenoid if ther is no power sometime wire breaksin the door jam harness from opening and closing door wires bend back and forth and are known to break 80 % its the lock solenoid

Ideally you need something to help pull hard on the wire. Try gripping it with a pair of pliers and giving it a firm tug. Maybe partly wrapping it round a screwdriver will do. Hopefully you will hear that reassuring sound of the bonnet popping.

It depends on where the break happened. IF you can get to the cable at all the previous advice works. If it broke at the actual latch. Good luck. It will take lots of work. Sometimes you can get to it by removing the grill. I have an 84 full size blazer and it broke on me at the latch. I had to crawl underneath, remove the fan from the front of the motor, squeeze in between the motor and radiator....then with a flash light in my mouth and a friend pushing down on the hood, stick a small screwdriver into the lever that the cable used to connect to and manually push it. Lucky for me I had room. Otherwise you may have to remove the grill and drill out/ break the latch bolts so the hood will open with the latch still connected. Drove me CRAZY!

How do you repair drivers side door latch mechanism on 98 GMC extended cab pickup?

generally you should find it inside the glove compartment, on the left side. Try between the drivers seat, and the door, on the floor there is a lever that you pull up. i have a 98 sunfire GT, and i have looked EVERYWHERE....i've had it for 3 years, and there is NO button inside the car for the trunk. only the key or the button on the key fob. This is problably no help, but on my '96 there is a trunk opening lever between the driver's seat and the door sill, on the floor.

Is it the lock button on top of the door or the latch that holds the door shut? If its the latch just pull door handle then flick catch back round with a screwdriver. Its a C lock that spins round when door shuts locking the door in place, when handle is pulled, the C lock is released and spins back with the effort of the door opening. Hope this helps
