Reversing sensors work?

A REVERSE SENSING CONTROL ALOWS THE RIVER TO ENABLE AND DISABLE THE RSS

WHEN THE IGNITION IS ON. THE RSC LIGHT TURNS ON WHEN FIRST STARTED

THE OFF INDICATOR LIGHT REMAINS ON WHEN DISABLED

SO LIGHT ON RSC OFF----LIGHT OFF RSC ON

This is also referred to as the "Parking Assist" in the Owners Manual.

If this is not working, check the fuse. I don't remember exactly which one it is, but check the Owners Manual to identify it.

How do you get the convertible top down in a 1995 Saab 900S?

If you have followed the procedure in the manual and it will not respond be sure the emergency brake is pulled on because the older convertibles have an interlock switch tied into the emergency brake to stop people from trying to put the top up or down when moving.

This could be your problem.....or not ....the new cars have several sensors that all must work or no top operation and ti can get VERY expensive to keep them working. A friend spent $7K on top repairs over a three year period before he gave up and dumped his car.

I hope you have better results.

How do you Replace the Shift Indicator Bulb in a 2000 s 70 Volvo?

The rear half(rear ashtray) of the console has to be removed first. Then take the 4 Phillips screw holding the shifter cover out. Lift the cover towards the shift knob, you don't have to takeit all the way off. The bulb is in the small tray next to the shifter shaft. daner@copper.net

Things were slightly different in my 2000 S70 which has a center armrest with cup holders. First pry loose the cover for the handbrake and then pull the cover off the handbrake handle. The entire center housing is held in place by two 8mm bolts. These bolts are hidden under a removable panel located inside the storage box under the center armrest. When you open the armrest box you will see a small tab at the bottom toward the front. The access panel can be removed by placing a screwdriver in the tab and prying gently. The two bolts are under this panel. Once the bolts are removed the entire center console can be lifted up. It is not necessary to completely remove it. The bulb is located on the driver's side of the shift lever in a white plastic housing. science@Joyner.ws

What would cause a car to eat oil and antifreeze with no leaks or smoke?

It is a manual transmission, a 4 liter DOHC engine basically a dodge neon engine in it i believe its a 440a. I just replaced the tie bars and now i am working on the engine. slight smoke from exhaust when shifting

no leaks or puddles from either oil or anti freeze

eating through antifreeze and oil rather quickly

when sitting and shifting over a long period of time white smoke is more present.

I have had a mechanic check it out they ran tests and flushed the systems and put in a heavier grade of oil the smoke is going away but i want the complete problem to vanish. the car just had a full tune up, now please keep in mind I am not sure how well the last person took care of this car, i know that they did the standard oil changes but that's all I know.

You cant get the clutch bled after you replaced the slave cylinder on a 1994 ranger it wont bled still has air in it?

this can be a problem, first you have to press the pedal about an inch do this several times, wait about an hour do it again.....if this doesn't work,it has to be power bled. you transmission shop can do it for you..... I had the same problem. The problem is the cylinder slants down toward the front and that is where the reservior and line connect. There is no good way to get all the air out while mounted to the firewall. Solution: unbolt from firewall with lines and reservoir attached. Tip the cylinder up in the front and use a vacuum bleeder at the slave cylinder.

What would cause the car to jerk when changing gears in a 1999 Chevy cavalier Z24 4-cylinder auto?

usually bad engine mounts

This happened to me once, but I'm not sure if this is your fix. I left the IAT Sensor(intake ait temperature sensor) unpluged by accident. It gave me whiplash everytime it shifted gears. I pluged it back in and it smothed out. It is in between the air filter box and throtal body.On that big black tube,it has 2 wires. OR,,Borrow someone's tube and see if that does any good. Also put some LUCAS Transmission lube in it. Shifting solenoids may be sticking.

How do you replace the head gasket located on a 1994 Toyota Tercel?

Answerremove the valve cover, remove the head, purchase a high quality gasket (you don't want to have to do this again) and replace the head and valve cover. you'll probably want to replace the valve cover gasket as well, gaskets aren't made to be reused. Make sure to properly torque all bolts to required specs (very important!).

If I were you I would take the head over to a machine shop. Have them check the head for valve wear cam wear rocker arm wear valve guides and valve stems seals in other words rebuild the head. They should also check the deck for flatness. If you were to put the head back on the engine and the flatness ex cease the tolerance allowed you could blow the head gasket. Keep in mind the head is aluminum on a cast iron block. I am sure the head has moved.

What does a tcc solenoid do?

the TCC,, torque converter clutch,,,, used on tree speed transmission in the 80's GM and on 4 speed automatics, the solenoid reads the speed of the transmission (car) and sends the signal to the computer which identifies that the car has reached proper crusing speed and is not under heavey load (full throttle) it then "locK" the torque converter to not allow any slippage like a standard automatic torque converter, basically making the torque converter act like a clutch,,, thus the name TCC torque converter clutch hope that helps,,

How do you replace the headlight bulb located on a 2001 Chevy Cavalier Z24?

Well I cant say that I know how to change the bulb because im still figuring that out myself, but the only way I can see is probably reaching through the bottome of the car to the light because it pretty crowded from up top and almost impossible to take the light out.

To change the bulbs in the headlights,(on a 2002 Z24) you need to remove the plastic splash cover the extends the width of the car over the headlights by removing the plastics pins that hold it in . Pull up on the center of the pins to remove them. Once the cover is off, remove the two bolts that hold the headlight in, then place a screwdriver into the slot for the parking light lens to pop the clip loose that holds the lens in place. The headlight assembly can then be removed, once the wire harness is unplugged from the bulb. There is a round retainer that locks the bulb into place. Rotate the retainer counter clockwise and remove the bulb. Don't touch the bulb surface as oil from a person's hands can cause premature failure. Just reverse these dirctions to reinstall the rest of the parts. This may sound difficult, but it really isn't. I out some fellow z owners.

If you can reach the backside of the headlight without taking out the whole headlight assembly, some have suggested this as quicker. Don't turn the Torx screws with the star shape, they adjust the light beams.

If you're in neutral at an intersection is it ok to skip first gear and go straight to second when the light changes?

If you are sitting at a light and you start in second, it won't usually stall your car. However it is not a good idea to always do this because if this is how you always shift, your transmission will not last very long. When you do shift back to first gear, be sure that your car has stopped completely-it's not good to force the car into first gear.
